How does Calibration work?

Calibration is a process of adjusting the settings of a TV or a projector to match the film studio's displays.

Your TV / Projector

Calibration is carried out with the use of specialised measuring equipment. Thanks to this process we achieve an image as close as possible to the director’s vision.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

No. Our procedures do not breach warranties set by leading technological companies. Moreover, our knowledge in the field of calibration is proved by numerous worldwide certification.

Usually, an hour is enough, however, when it comes to calibration of various modes the process may take up to 2 hours. Calibration of high-quality projectors takes about 3 hours. A short duration is possible thanks to our original programs.

It does not influence the process of calibration at all, no matter what modes are being calibrated (night modes can be calibrated during the day and day modes during the night.). Colorimeters we use (Klein K-10A, K-80) block out the light perfectly. The room should be dark only when it comes to the calibration of a projector.

No. Only the display is needed, as we use our own picture generator. After the process, we provide help with connecting and adjusting a new source of signal.

Definitely yes. Calibrated device not only provides natural colors but also it displays an image the way the director wanted us to see it. We are so sure about it, that if you don’t see a visible difference we will not charge you. We encourage you to read our clients’ opinions- below.

TVs can be calibrated straight after unboxing (new). Turning it on 30 minutes before calibration may make the process slightly faster. It is recommended to calibrate projectors that worked for at least 10 hours (although it is not a strict requirement).

TVs can be calibrated again, but it’s not a must. The majority of differences obtained in the process of calibration are constant and do not degenerate over time. However, some aspects such as white balance can shift after a few years, depending on the display technology. If you plan to use the same display for over 3 years, please ask for our special offer on the revision of settings. When it comes to projectors it's good practice to recalibrate the device after changing the lamp (usually after few years).

Opinions about calibration

–– (Google translate) I stayed with my projector calibration because I thought that I already have a good enough image that I do not need ...... after Maciek's calibration I saw with my own eyes how much I was losing on the image quality. The colors and shades of gray, white and black have taken on a different dimension. As I saw after switching to the old image on which I was watching and compared it to the calibrated it was the first thing that threw me at the first fire washed out colors and image blurring. The difference in shades of colors of grass and trees was also very good, where in the image before the calibration one shade was practically dominated, and after suddenly it turned out that individual areas on the lawn have different shades ... ;-) In summary, calibration is really worth doing if it depends us on natural colors and we want to refine our image in 100% ... ;-)

" (Google translate) Calibration squeezed even more from my TV, and it seemed to me that nothing was missing him to perfection."

–– (Google translate) I have a calibrated projector and there is sky and the earth before and after. There were more green and red in the color scheme, which distorted the rest of the colors. Apparently you see more ads than movies. I will persuade everyone to correct calibration.

–– (Google translate) Hello, because I changed my Epson EH-TW5000 on SONY VPL-HW30 I decided to invite Mr. Maciek and see what can be squeezed from this equipment. I must admit that I only read this thread until today. Both the 2d and 3d modes were calibrated, the whole calibration lasted about 5 hours and I think that with my little knowledge in the subject even after purchasing the upper-shelf calibration equipment, I would not be able to do the job. During the calibration I started to have concerns that the image before the settings suited me more, but after switching to the factory settings and those after calibration it turned out that I was wrong. However, my image has been exaggerated, less detailed and indeed unnatural. The difference, despite the fact that my eyes are not what I used to (I will not be long 50s), I see and it is significant.

–– (Google translate) "How would I be there" - these words broke free from my buddy while watching the jungle journey from the "Earth - planet of people" BBC, after the calibration carried out by Mr. Maciej on my GT30. Then it occurred to me that these four words are the shortest and most accurate review of the work done :) For the needs of calibration initially approached "with a certain kind of shyness" and for this reason I decided to try to calibrate only the night mode (I assumed that in ideal conditions it is easier will notice the effects). And the effect is more than good - in many scenes, especially in shadows such as "Blade Runner" or "Aliens", I began to find details that I had not noticed before. Now this picture is alive, it draws more into the atmosphere of the stage, into the middle of the action. It is much closer to the cinema than on the factory settings. At the same time, it is not that after switching to factory settings, all these details suddenly disappear (though some do). The point is that they become less readable, less obvious, as if buried - you have to strain to see them again. Only that I do not sit down in front of the TV to analyze the image, but in order to give it a charm, draw in another world. A well-performed calibration definitely facilitates such a transfer in a place and time. "How would I be there" - this is the effect of your job, Mr. Maciej, and thank you for that. From the perspective of almost two months I can see only one disadvantage of the whole operation - I did not calibrate the day mode, and now I know what results we can achieve. I hope that during the next visit in Lodz, Mr. Maciej can be invited for coffee and "by the way" will put the old client in a daily mode;)

" (Google translate) A much more pleasant and natural picture. For sure another TV will also be calibrated."

–– (Google translate) I am also fresh after the calibration of 46HX850 by Maciej Koper, I am very pleasantly surprised with the results, I thought so far that I have a properly set image on the eye (a lot of it I sat and set from the news) and somehow I did not have a great pressure on professional calibration. However, as it turned out, my art had a large pinking in the white balance which only after calibration by Maciej managed to capture and nicely correct and set accordingly (without proper measurements there is no chance of correct setting) Other parameters and colors have improved, there are now more details in the shadows, all colors have naturally improved, it is nice to see it in shades of grass or its shades, switching between the scene after calibration and without it. If someone wants to get the most out of their screen, do not hesitate because the improvement is visible right away, the picture is now beautiful and natural without any color raid, it is as it should be, I have no dilemmas so far with what I would not I always looked at something that did not suit me and I did some adjustments. Without the proper knowledge of Maciej and accessories, he has no chance of setting himself up correctly. Once again I recommend and thank Maciej for his time.

–– (Google translate) Hello, so I will join the discussion. Gentlemen with Skalibruj TV exactly P. Koper calibrated me TV OLED LG B6J - exactly 3 days ago. I consider their work to be very professional. TV took on natural colors which was visible immediately after calibration. The difference can be seen even on ordinary channels - before I had Plasma Panasonica and I also compare this image to it. As you can see from the entire content of this thread are people who like the artificially cold picture - colored. I personally can not imagine looking at this type of TV without calibration - (although I set it up for 2 weeks a day, I was not able to get the effect that after calibration). Personally, I highly recommend and greet the boys from Skalibruj TV. Ps. I also invite you to the detailing of the car because this was done by some unprofessional company holograms :).
